We are pleased to announce that Lancaster University has been awarded the International University of the Year award for its global presence and diverse student body by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020. This comes after the continued investment in overseas partnerships and campuses, namely with the announcement of a new campus to open in Leipzig, Germany. This will be the fourth global strategic partnership established, joining the University’s campus in Ghana and two joint institutes at Beijing Jiaotong University, China and Sunway University, Malaysia respectively.
Lancaster University prides itself on offering opportunities to students from around the world, both in their internationally-based campuses and the University itself. With over 180 nationalities represented within the University, Lancaster boasts a “campus touching every continent”. The University's global community on campus is contributed to by the International Study Centre's student body, which is made up of individuals from many cultures and nationalities.
A year of success for the University
2019 has been a successful year for the University; Lancaster has been ranked top 10 in the three major UK university league tables* for the 4th consecutive year. It was also awarded the highest possible score in the UK government's 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) ratings for high quality teaching, excellent teaching facilities and graduate careers.
International students are able to join this multicultural community and gain a place at the International University of the Year by studying a pathway programme at the International Study Centre.
*Lancaster University has been ranked 8th in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020, 7th in The Guardian University League Table 2020, and 7th in the Complete University Guide 2020.
